THE BLESSINGS FOR OBEDIENCE
GOD GIVES BLESSINGS CONTINGENT UPON OUR OBEDIENCE - Deut. 28
If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, theLord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come on youand accompany you if you obey the Lord your God:
However, if you do not obey the Lord your God and do not carefully follow all his commands and decrees I am giving you today, all these curses will come on you and overtake you:
Disobedience is the enemy of your blessing and brings disaster (disobedience-is rebellion to the directive God gave you)
Blessings should not be the object of your obedience, it is the bi-product of God's plan for the world.
YOU CAN'T FOOL GOD WITH YOUR ACTIONS...
YOU CAN'T BEAT GOD - YOU MIGHT AS WELL JOIN HIM!
Live Life by the Spirit- 13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh[a]; rather, serve one another humbly in love. 14 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”[b] 15 If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever[c] you want. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit,you are not under the law.19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other. Galatians 5

Why Church?
LISTEN TO THESE THREE BIG MISCONCEPTIONS OF THE CHURCH
1st CHURCH IS A BUILDING WHERE PEOPLE GO TO BE JUDGED
2nd CHURCH IS FOR WEAK MINDED PEOPLE WHO NEED TO BE TOLD WHAT TO DO
3rd CHURCH IS JUST A OLD TRADITION MADE UP BY A PERSON FOR A SENSE OF BELONGING
----WELL LET'S CLEAR UP SOME OF THESE MISGUIDED THEORIES ABOUT THE CHURCH AND IT’S PURPOSE
WHY CHURCH ?
- WE ARE IN THE YEAR 2012 AND IT IS OBVIOUS THAT THE CHURCH STILL HAS AN IMMOVABLE PLACE IN SOCIETY
- THE CHURCH IS SO ESSENTIAL THAT IT EVEN AFFECTS NON-BELIEVERS AND OR PEOPLE WHO JUST DON'T EVEN LIKE IT!
- THE PROBLEM IS PEOPLE FORGET AND DISREGARD, DEVALUE OR JUST DON'T REALIZE THE POWER THE CHURCH HAS TO TRANSFORM LIFE ITSELF.
HOW MANY OF YOU CAN SAY BECAUSE OF THE CHURCH YOUR LIFE HAS CHANGED?
Matthew 22:37-40 (NIV)
[37] Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ [38] This is the first and greatest commandment. [39] And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ [40] All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

B - IT IS NOT THE CHURCHES JOB TO JUDGE, TO CAST AWAY, OR TO DESTROY BUT TO LOVE PEOPLE.
C - WE ARE HERE AS A LIGHT IN A DARK WORLD TO SPREAD THE GOSPEL OF WHAT TRUE LOVE IS ALL ABOUT.
D - IF YOU ARE A BELIEVER YOUR NUMBER ONE CHARACTERISTIC SHOULD BE LOVE!.
5 WAYS JESUS LOVED
1.) He died for us --so you sacrifice something
2.) He did not judge us but forgave us --- you stop judging
3.) He had mercy on us. ---- you show mercy
4.) He brings healing when we are sick --- so you be the antidote
5.) He is coming back for us ---- you go back and get someone

THE CHURCH IS LOVE
Acts 2:42;
42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. MATTERS OF THE HEART-Friends
Proverbs 18:24 (NIV)
- One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin,but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
- Over the years it has been discovered that it is very possible to chart the course of a persons future by the people that he or she is surrounded with .
- Stastics have shown that having the right kind of friends can help you live longer and having the wrong friends can possibly shorten your life span!
- Friends are good for your heart and soul. If they are the right friends!
- So, what is a real friend ? - The answer: a real friend is one who adds to your well being and enhances the quality of your life , someone who can be trusted completely with who you are !
You become what you're connected to !
Having the right friends can be a matter of life and death !
Be careful how you allow people to conduct themselves around you, what you condone you own!

Forgiveness - is all about me.
Most of us want to be forgiven, but won't forgive.
There is nothing that can be done to a person that cannot be forgiven.
Harboring anger and unforgiveness will cause you to be the very thing you fought hard not to be.
BE ANGRY BUT SIN NOT! Eph. 4:26
YOU REAP WHAT YOU SEW.

Is Your Word Settled?
God told me that if we never keep our own word, we will never be able to believe His Word.
You won't be able to trust in God's Word because you can't trust your own.
You will never grow spiritually until you watch over the words that come out your mouth.
Psalm 119:89 says, For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven.
Psalm 141:3 says, Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.
Are you prepared to eat the fruit of your mouth?
Proverbs 18:21 says, Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
You won't be able to trust in God's Word because you can't trust your own.

Our Father in Heaven, I make the quality decision, with Your help and by the help of Your Holy Spirit, that I will be a man/woman of my word. You said in Your Word, Father, that You hasten to Your word to perform it. You also said that I am to be an imitator of You. Therefore, Lord, I will continually watch over my words to perform them and be a man/woman of integrity. No idle promises will pass through my lips; but by the power of Your Word and the wisdom of Your Holy Spirit, I will say what I mean and mean what I say. In the Name of Jesus, I will be a man/woman of my word!
