FASTING IN THE LORD

1 "Cry aloud, spare not; Lift up your voice like a trumpet; Tell My people their transgression, And the house of Jacob their sins.
2 Yet they seek Me daily, And delight to know My ways, As a nation that did righteousness, And did not forsake the ordinance of their God. They ask of Me the ordinances of justice; They take delight in approaching God.
3 'Why have we fasted,' they say, 'and You have not seen? Why have we afflicted our souls, and You take no notice?' "In fact, in the day of your fast you find pleasure, And exploit all your laborers.
4 Indeed you fast for strife and debate, And to strike with the fist of wickedness. You will not fast as you do this day, To make your voice heard on high.
5 Is it a fast that I have chosen, A day for a man to afflict his soul? Is it to bow down his head like a bulrush, And to spread out sackcloth and ashes? Would you call this a fast, And an acceptable day to the Lord?
6 "Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke?
7 Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; When you see the naked, that you cover him, And not hide yourself from your own flesh?
8 Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.
9 Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; You shall cry, and He will say, 'Here I am.' "If you take away the yoke from your midst, The pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness,
10 If you extend your soul to the hungry And satisfy the afflicted soul, Then your light shall dawn in the darkness, And your darkness shall be as the noonday.
11 The Lord will guide you continually, And satisfy your soul in drought, And strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.
12 Those from among you Shall build the old waste places; You shall raise up the foundations of many generations; And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, The Restorer of Streets to Dwell In.
13 "If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, From doing your pleasure on My holy day, And call the Sabbath a delight, The holy day of the Lord honorable, And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways, Nor finding your own pleasure, Nor speaking your own words,
14 Then you shall delight yourself in the Lord; And I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth, And feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father. The mouth of the Lord has spoken."

REPENTANCE POEM

Repentance is a change of mind
and actions for tomorrow,
Repentance requires change of direction
Not just godly sorrow.

Repentance is imperative
It's God's irrevocable command,
Repent today for tomorrow's not promised
The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.

Turn from yourself and your sin
and your distorted view of grace,
Reconcile, restore the fellowship
Repent and seek His face.

David's prayer of repentance...
Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions.  Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you are proved right when you speak and justified when you judge.Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.  Surely you desire truth in the inner parts; you teach me wisdom in the inmost place. Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow...  Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.  Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.  Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.  Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will turn back to you... O God, the God who saves me, and my tongue will sing of your righteousness.  O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise.  ...The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.  PSALM 51

DON'T MISS THIS MOVE!

WHEN YOU MOVE, GOD MOVES - JUST LIKE THAT!

Anything standing still is moving backwards, you have to change to grow and you have to grow to change!

THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE FAITHFUL

Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
1 COR 1:10

For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
GAL 5:13

And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
EPH 4:32

Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
EPH 5:21

Fulfill ye my joy, that ye be like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
PHIL 2:2

Use hospitality one to another without grudging.
1 PETER 4:9

Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:
For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
1 PETER 3:8,12,15

The Power Of The Seed

The Parable of the Sower: Mark 4:1-20

1 Again Jesus began to teach by the lake. The crowd that gathered around him was so large that he got into a boat and sat in it out on the lake, while all the people were along the shore at the water’s edge. 2 He taught them many things by parables, and in his teaching said: 3 “Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed. 4 As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5 Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. 6 But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants, so that they did not bear grain. 8 Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, some multiplying thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times.”

9 Then Jesus said, “Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.”

13 Then Jesus said to them, “Don’t you understand this parable? How then will you understand any parable? 14 The farmer sows the word. 15 Some people are like seed along the path, where the word is sown. As soon as they hear it, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in them. 16 Others, like seed sown on rocky places, hear the word and at once receive it with joy. 17 But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. 18 Still others, like seed sown among thorns, hear the word; 19 but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful. 20 Others, like seed sown on good soil, hear the word, accept it, and produce a crop—some thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times what was sown.”

One Plants, One Waters, God Gives The Increase!

Therefore...receive the implanted word...and, be doers of the Word and not hearers only! James 1:21-23

Salvation through Christ: a matter of FAITH

Jesus loves you and wants to have a personal relationship with you. In your personal opinion, what do you understand it takes for a person to get to heaven and have eternal life? Here is how the Bible answers this question. It is answered in one word and the word is FAITH.

F Is for Forgiveness

Everyone has sinned and needs God's forgiveness. Romans 3:23: "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."  God's forgiveness is in Jesus only. Ephesians 1:7: "In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace."

A Is for Available

God's forgiveness is available for all. John 3:16: "God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life."
God's forgiveness is available but not automatic. Matthew 7:21: "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord!' will enter the kingdom of heaven."

I Is for Impossible

According to the Bible, it is impossible to get to heaven on our own. Ephesians 2:8-9: "By grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God's gift - not from works, so that no one can boast.
So how can a sinful person have eternal life and enter heaven?

T Is for Turn

If you were going down the road and someone asked you to turn, what would he or she be asking you to do? (Change direction) Turn means repent. Turn away from sin and self. Luke 13:3: "Unless you repent, you will all perish as well!"  Turn to Jesus alone as your Savior and Lord. John 14:6: "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." Here is the greatest news of all. Romans 10:9-10: "If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. With the heart one believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses, resulting in salvation."
What happens if a person is willing to repent of their sins and confess Christ?

H Is for Heaven

Heaven is a place where we will live with God forever. John 14:3: "If I go away and prepare a place for you, I will come back and receive you to Myself, so that where I am you may be also." Eternal life begins now with Jesus. John 10:10: "I have come that they may have life and have it in abundance."
How can a person have God's forgiveness, eternal life, and heaven?
By trusting Jesus as your Savior and Lord. You can do this right now by praying and asking Jesus to forgive you of your sins and inviting Jesus into your heart.

GOD'S WORD IS LIFE!

LIVE EVERY MOMENT IN THE FACE OF JESUS

CONFESSION AND SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINE…

“Confession is so difficult a Discipline for us partly because we view the believing community as a fellowship of saints before we see it as a fellowship of sinners. We come to feel that everyone else has advanced so far into holiness that we are isolated and alone in our sin. We could not bear to reveal our failures and shortcomings to others. We imagine that we are the only ones who have not stepped onto the high road to heaven. Therefore we hide ourselves from one another and live in veiled lies and hypocrisy.

But if we know that the people of God are first a fellowship of sinner we are freed to hear the unconditional call of God’s love and to confess our need openly before our brothers and sisters together. In acts of mutual confession we release the power that heals. Our humanity is no longer denied but transformed.”   – Richard Foster

LIFE IN THE FASTING LANE-Living A Transparent Life Before God

Living transparently means, first, that we acknowledge the fact that we cannot hide anything from God (Psalm 139:7-12). When we cherish our secret sins, we fool ourselves into thinking we can also keep them hidden from God. However, when we confess our sins, we invite God to shine the light of His truth into every dark corner of our heart. We pray, "Lord, show me what I have been trying to hide from you. Help me put it out in the open so you can heal my broken life."

Living transparently means, second, that we acknowledge the fact that our sin is offensive to God (Jeremiah 44:4). When we cherish our secret sins, we fool ourselves into thinking God does not mind. But when we confess our sin, we are essentially agreeing with God that what we did was an offense to Him.

Living transparently means, third, that we recognize the fact that God must deal with sin (Nahum 1:3). When we cherish our hidden sin, we deny God's justice. But when we confess our sin, we recognize that we deserve nothing more than God's wrath. In this recognition we cry out, "Mercy!" and God is ready and willing to forgive us. 1 John 1:9 says, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."

LIVE EVERY MOMENT IN THE FACE OF JESUS -- Praying, Fasting and Confessing

GOD I THANK YOU FOR THE GIFT OF TODAY!

TODAY IS THE DAY! NOW IS THE TIME!

REDEEM THE TIME: A time of re-commitment, forsaking yourselves … Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works; or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lamp stand from its place—unless you repent—Rev. 2:1-7 God has called you to a course of re-commitment—draw nigh unto Him Ex.33:12-23

“Father God, I know this day is a gift and I am not going to waste it.  I have a responsibility to redeem the time that you God have given me.  I am a seed of destiny.  God you did not put me here to be controlled by anyone or anything, you put me here to praise, worship, and multiply good fruit.  You put me here to be an on-purpose-person.  I have allowed distractions to keep me from God’s best. Today I commit to redeem the time.  I will let go and let God. I will trust you God to make my wrongs right, I will trust you God to be my vindicator.  I will let go of the past and value my days.  I purpose to move forward to the great.

Father I am releasing every negative thing, I am drawing a line in the sand and making the most of each day.  As I continue to consecrate my flesh, I will invest the time thanking you God for what you have coming.  I commit to live each day in great expectation.

GOD I THANK YOU FOR THE GIFT OF TODAY!

CONSECRATE YOUR HEART TO GOD.

Grace be to you, and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Consecrate your heart to God.

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people--1Tim 2:1.  Consecrate your heart to God.

Brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things—Phil 4:8.  Consecrate your heart to God.

He must become greater; I must become less—John 3:30.  Consecrate your heart to God.

Father in the Name of Jesus, during this 30-days of consecration and self examination, give us strength as we discipline ourselves to abstain from what can interfere with the flow of God in our lives.  We recognize that every thought, word or act is either flesh or spirit, so we are called to fast (I john 2:15-16) to silence the flesh and exalt the spirit--Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ—2 Cor. 10:5.  Consecrate your heart to God.

May you experience, the undisturbed peace and presence of God.
